ENGLISH OVERVIEW

Glass Substrate Supply Chain

Permanent glass cores and interposers, excluding carriers

Specialty glass, through-glass vias (TGVs), metallization and fine wiring connect to glass-core substrates, glass interposers and package integration. This map focuses on glass that remains permanently in the finished product.

Separate materials, processing and finished substrates

Identify each role, then check published products and validation progress. Equipment and inspection support multiple stages, which may be divided among companies or performed within one firm.

What public evidence supports in Taiwan

AUO and Innolux participate in glass-core substrate development. Their GCS validation and shipment status must be distinguished from existing display-panel and fan-out panel-level packaging businesses.

  • AUO demonstrated GCS combining Corning semiconductor glass with AUO RDL, with continuing TGV, metallization and reliability development.
  • Innolux listed GCS in its 2026 exhibition materials; ITRI also published TGV validation work with Innolux and Contrel.
  • E&R, Scientech, Group Up and Contrel represent laser, wet-etch, lamination and stress-inspection equipment roles.
  • Ingentec provides TGV-core processing and process services, distinct from complete build-up substrates.
