ENGLISH OVERVIEW

Pluggable Optical Transceivers

Replaceable optical links selected for each port

Pluggable transceivers convert electrical and optical signals at network ports. They can be selected for link distance and fiber type and replaced individually. Matching form factors do not guarantee matching wavelengths, transmission specifications or host compatibility.

Read both host and module specifications

Check standard, distance, fiber type, wavelength, connector, power and environment, then verify host support. Equal data rates may still use different fiber counts or connection arrangements.

  • Power comparisons with CPO must include host signal conditioning and light sources at a consistent boundary. Silicon photonics can serve both architectures.

Manufacturers, brands and contract production

InnoLight, Coherent and Eoptolink are high-speed module examples; Cisco offers branded optics and compatibility support; Fabrinet supplies manufacturing and optical-packaging services.

  • FOCI describes specialized transceivers and fiber integration, which does not establish its standard 800G or 1.6T production scale. LightCounting's March 2026 update is a market update, not a pluggable-module share ranking; mixed business revenue and estimates cannot be converted directly into such a ranking.

A full branch: products, electronics and manufacturing

Follow lasers, silicon photonics and drive/receive electronics into module products and manufacturing. DSP-based modules and LPO use different electronic architectures, while pluggable optics continues to develop.

Transceivers versus short-reach AOC / ALC

Transceivers with separate fiber cover different reach classes. A 500 m or 2 km product is not replaceable merely because a 50 m ALC uses less power; 1.6T is not the only selection criterion. The table preserves undisclosed fields instead of inferring model capability from DR/FR names.

Rows describe different products and reaches, not a power ranking. Undisclosed is not zero. Distinguish one endpoint from both, typical from maximum, and design targets from measurements. Review dates are not launch or production dates.

Connected industry roles

Links describe supply, classification, technology or services. They do not establish transactions between individual companies.
